Trust & Estates Litigation Paralegal – Irvine

Fast-growing Trust and Estate litigation Firm in Orange County with a satellite office in San Diego is currently looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join their team. Assisting both offices, the Litigation Paralegals play a vital role in the business by assisting other Paralegals, Case Managers, Attorneys, and Administrative Staff in all areas related to litigation and their overall role with the firm.

Trust & Estate Litigation Paralegal daily responsibilities include:

  • The Paralegal monitors and reports on the status of cases and identifies matters that are outside of established deadlines and timeframes for critical milestones.
  • Proactively manages assigned cases from inception through close or trial
  • Can triage, sort and reprioritize quickly
  • Manages all phases of a matter within the parameters set forth by the firm.
  • Ability to manage and execute all responsibilities for an active matter including electronic filings, document preparation and editing, legal research, and shepardizing as necessary.
  • Organize all case-related information for each matter so that it is easily identifiable to the entire Team.
  • Properly calendars and manages deadlines and reminders to deadlines to ensure the success of the entire Team.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Responsible Attorneys and support staff to ensure tasks are being communicated and completed timely.
  • Understands the cadence, strategy, and nature of each assigned matter.
  • This includes the understanding of “next steps” and how to “manage up” to ensure that you are always at least five steps ahead.

Qualified Trust & Estate Paralegals should have:

  • Five (5)+ years supporting Attorneys who handle trusts and estate litigation matters.
  • Actively assisted attorney in preparing for a minimum of 25 depositions and 5 trials- organizing, saving and uploading evidence for virtual depositions.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Probate Code, CRC, and CCP.
  • Ability to proactively run a case from inception through trial within minimal supervision.
  • Tech savvy- able to use Adobe with ease.  Knows how to OCR, bates stamp and upload evidence into Trial Director application and efile.
  • Proficient in MS Office suites.
  • Comfortable with meeting minimum billable requirements and time entry systems.

Ella graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in History and Spanish. As an undergraduate, Ella loved to learn about the intersectionality of the past and present through culture, law, language, and the arts.

Shortly after graduation, Ella moved to a small town in Spain, Segovia; about an hour outside of Madrid. She taught English in a classroom setting to elementary and middle school aged students across five small, rural pueblos. After moving back to LA a year later, Ella expressed an interest in recruiting and law, and was connected with Mitch. Ella looks forward to learning from Mitch about employment from the recruiting lens and values the professional expertise he has to offer.​
