In-House Corporate Paralegal needed for the headquarters and legal department of an international company, based here in Los Angeles. The Corporate Paralegal provides a variety of legal assistance to the Legal Department by providing research support services including document preparation and review; assist with creating and revising policies, and company forms.
Specific Paralegal duties include:
- Partner with and provides legal assistance to the General Counsel in all aspects of corporate practice.
- Assist attorneys with litigation support services.
- Communicate with counsel regarding case developments in order to update litigation log and litigation reserves data needed by other company departments periodically
- Research and analyze regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys.
- Produce documents related to the development and implementation of corporate policies.
- May draft and negotiate contracts such as confidentiality agreements, and other types of agreements.
- Work with other members of the Legal team on special projects and initiatives
- Exercise discretion and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by General Counsel.
Qualified Paralegals will have:
- Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal certificate required
- Five (5) years of related Paralegal experience, ideally with corporate work as well as an understanding of labor & employment law.
- Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years in-house experience, working with Corporate Counsel, as well as managing legal projects.
- Experience working in manufacturing or distribution industries preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal contracts, policies and correspondence.
