Business Applications Associate – Finance & Accounting

A prominent firm in Southern California is looking for a Business Applications Associate who will work directly under the VP of Business Applications,  supporting the financial systems and applications for the real estate group. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline data from both internal and third-party sources, ensuring data quality and reliability. This role will manage user accounts across business applications related to Finance & Accounting. A crucial part of the role is conducting data mapping and validation regularly to maintain data accuracy. The  Associate will also customize applications to align with specific business needs and workflows, enhancing operational efficiency. 

Business Applications Associate Responsibilities Include:

  •  Collaborate closely with internal IT leadership, representatives from Finance and accounting teams, and external vendors. 
  • Provide comprehensive application support for various applications, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience. 
  • Proactively contact vendors or external data sources to troubleshoot issues, seek solutions, and optimize application performance. 
  • Customize applications to meet specific business needs and improve operational efficiency. 
  •  Ensure the quality and reliability of data from both internal and third-party sources. 
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, as well as ensuring appropriate roles and permissions are assigned to users based on a least privilege model.
  • Provide training and support to end-users for applicable systems and applications.
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of data. 
  • Validate data and processes to ensure they meet established criteria and business objectives. 
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap.
  • Oversee regular maintenance of applications to ensure their longevity and reliability.

A Qualified Business Applications Associate will have:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business analysis, and/or application management preferably within the real estate or financial services sector. 
  •  Proficiency in ERP (Yardi), TMS (Gtreasury/Kyriba), and financial reporting systems  (Dfin/Workiva). 
  • Experience in Finance & Accounting is preferred. 
  • Advanced skills in SQL and Excel. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Ella graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in History and Spanish. As an undergraduate, Ella loved to learn about the intersectionality of the past and present through culture, law, language, and the arts.

Shortly after graduation, Ella moved to a small town in Spain, Segovia; about an hour outside of Madrid. She taught English in a classroom setting to elementary and middle school aged students across five small, rural pueblos. After moving back to LA a year later, Ella expressed an interest in recruiting and law, and was connected with Mitch.
