As the era of COVID-19 is seemingly coming to a close, we’ve seen many companies return in person while other companies have grown comfortable with a hybrid-remote work structure… and so have their employees! Despite the geopolitical unrest and changing economic conditions that have the nation in a state of uncertainty, Rufca Recruiting has kept busy this summer and continues to work with clients who are confident in their businesses and are continuing to hire new talent.
It has been a joy to return to in person events this year as we reconnect with our professional network and undergo new projects. To give you a brief update, here are few highlights of recent events:
This summer, a new Recruiting Intern joined Rufca Recruiting Services!
Bianca Salmerón is a graduate student at Loyola Marymount College of Business Administration pursuing a Masters degree in Management through an accelerated 4+1 program. As an undergraduate, Bianca connected with Mitch over the years for internship opportunities and career advice, eventually discovering recruiting and landing an internship with the company for her last year as a graduate student. Bianca greatly values Mitch’s mentorship and is highly-motivated to continue to develop her professional skills as a recruiter and build a name for herself in the industry.
Emily is still assisting with projects at Rufca Recruiting as she pursues her career in information technology.
This past September, Mitch and Bianca attended the Los Angeles National Human Resources Association’s Executive of the Year Awards Ceremony. The NHRA event gathered the Los Angeles community of Human Resources Executives together to reunite post-COVID, celebrate the achievements of the finalists, and to recognize the entire community for their hard work in navigating unimaginable challenges over the last few years.
Mitch Rufca has continued to teach at Loyola Marymount’s College of Business and is now taking on a larger role at the university through his work in connecting companies with the eager pool of LMU undergraduates looking to break into the workforce and begin their careers. Mitch’s goal is to foster lasting relationships between students and professionals by facilitating the integration of these two prominent communities here in Los Angeles through introducing his professional network to the rising talent of the next generation of LMU graduates.
In collaboration with LMU’s College of Business Administration, Mitch has implemented career and professional development workshops for undergraduate and graduate students to attend and hone their job search strategies, interview skills, and broaden their professional networks. Mitch has brought industry professionals from major companies to campus to share their words of wisdom and demystify the hiring process at large companies.
Mitch also has continued to teach through UCLA Extension through their HR Certificate program, and thoroughly enjoys connecting with professionals of different backgrounds and experiences, to teach them about talent acquisition strategies.
